Design and Build Contract for New two classroom extension with group room, toilets and link together with associated externals including replacement hard play area and demolition and removal of temporary units and part demolition and rebuild of existing school in a live environment.
The Client chose a Timber Frame SIPs System and having looked at other possible systems we were able to advise the client that this was the most economical option for the design. An insulated metal standing seam roof with matching grey trims provided a pleasing modern contrast against the timber cladding. Aluminium Curtain Walling and Screens ensured light filled classroom space and a wide porch provided some under-cover outside space.
Rigg have been involved in a number of Design and Build Collaborative projects which require the co-ordination of the design team, engineers and suppliers to finalise design details and work together to overcome any issues. We work well with client’s established teams, but can also bring together a team from scratch, as required. As well as Holt School above, we have worked on a design and build basis for Wiltshire Rural Housing Association, Selwood Housing Association and various private clients.
